Charles started woodworking after selling most of his belonging before moving to the UK for one year. Upon his return he wanted to furnish his apartment but was tired of buying cheap furniture that didn’t last long. His desire to not add unnecessary waste to a landfill got him started in woodworking and the encouragement, help and tips received from many people in his life, continued his progression. He was once told an old saying that “one full grown tree is all that is needed for a person to have a lifetime worth of furniture”. It was meant to show that one tree is all each person really needs and if the furniture was quality built and taken care of properly, it should outlast the owner, which would hopefully reduce unnecessary spending to replace cheaper built furniture and will also help reduce the amount of cheap furniture being thrown away and ending up in a landfill. Ever since Charles built his first piece of furniture, he’s been tinkering with design ideas and honing his skillset to be able to built high quality furniture that’s timeless. His desire and motivation continues to grow through each person that acquires a “forever piece”.
